SLM Göteborg (Scandinavian Leather Men Göteborg) is a non-political and non-profit association for men who have sex with men and are interested in leather, fetish and/or BDSM. The association is run on voluntary basis by it’s members and is governed by a board elected at the annual general meeting.
SLM Göteborg is a member of the Nordic / Baltic organization Top of Europe (ToE), which consists of clubs in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, (Iceland) and Estonia. Since 1997 we are also members of the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs (ECMC), an organization for non-commercial leather and fetish clubs in Europe.
History
The current SLM Göteborg was founded in 1994. In the early 70s there was an SLM association in Gothenburg, which at the time was one of the oldest in Europe, but it’s activity ceased in the 80s. In the early 2000’s we had our own venue at Karl Johansgatan, but had to move out in 2006 due to our land-lord RFSL Göteborg leaving the premises. Since then we’ve been hiring various venues in Gothenburg to host our parties and events.
Operations
We are a monthly club and you find our dates in the event calendar. Although the Board is primarily responsible for the operations, maintaining and developing the club relies heavily on member contributions. The bar and entrance need personnel each evening it is open, different events require more or less preparation and the venue needs maintenance. Thus it is important that all members are doing what they can to help and contribute.
